Get a B Complex….

If you’re feeling stressed, run down or think you might be catching a cold, a Vitamin B complex supplement may be the tonic that your immune system needs. Not a single substance but a group of water-soluble vitamins that combine with other nutrients to participate in a variety of oxidative enzyme systems, the B Vitamins play a crucial part in maintaining the health of your immune system. The B Vitamins work together and are needed for antibody production, ensuring that the immune army of white cells does their job properly. Vitamin B complex also help to maintain a healthy digestive system, and is needed for healthy hair, nail and skin. The health of your mouth can also suffer if your diet is low in the Vitamin B complex; mouth ulcers, for example, have been related to Vitamin B deficiencies. Wholegrains and cereals, liver, meat, poultry, fish, milk, eggs, leafy green vegetables, brewer’s yeast, yeast extract are good source of Vitamin B. If your diet isn’t too good, if you are a vegetarian or are simply feeling run down, Vitamin B complex supplements can make up for any deficiencies you may have in your diet. Some Vitamin B complexes may not contain all 8 of the essential B vitamins (thiamin B1, riboflavin B2, niacin B3, pantothenic acid B5, pyridoxine B6, Cyanocobalamin B12, biotin and folic acid), so do count them on the label. If you’re taking multivitamin and mineral supplement, you may already be getting your daily recommended intake of Vitamin B complex, but check the label or talk to your pharmacist to make sure.

Note : Be aware that high levels of Vitamin B complex can be toxic so always follow the dosage instructions on the label, and don’t exceed the suggested amount.
